Last time I showed you guys my master bedroom in progress, you probably saw that big ugly spinning fan above the bed. Living in Texas, having fans in every room is a must, and I will probably be regretting this come summer, but I just could not keep the fan in the room. I love to see chandeliers in bedrooms, especially master bedrooms, and mine was no exception. I had been looking at Overstock for a while, trying to decide which light fixture I wanted. I had originally had my sight set on one, until, quite by chance, this one popped up. I couldn't believe I had missed it in my search, and as soon as I saw it, I fell in love.

I did not even have to think about it, I purchased it on the spot, it also helped that I was able to use a coupon. It wasn't until the next day, that I realized they also had this same chandelier in a chrome finish, but it was a little too late to switch the order, and besides, this one is the one that took my breath away ;)
| I love the shadows it casts on the ceiling and walls when lit at night. |
I have also been playing with the addition of some color in the room. I really like the combination of gray and yellow, so I have been trying slowly, to incorporate the color. I re-covered the lamp shades I had on my nightstands with this lovely fabric. I think it add just the right amount of color to this wall:

| I am still not sure about the lamps. |
I used a gray and white trim for the edges, it is definitely not perfect, but I don't do perfect, nothing I do is, and that is fine by me. While I was working on installing the chandelier, guess what arrived at my door early:
I was not expecting the headboard until next week, and even then, it was a lot sooner than what the site had said. I will be posting pictures as soon as I can.
So now with the walls painted, the new lights up, and the new headboard delivered, I have to say, I think my master bedroom redo is slowly, but surely, coming along.. Hopefully, nightstands are next (hint), that is, if I don't decide to paint the ones I currently have..we will have to see. Thanks for stopping by.
Hope everyone has a great week!

ReplyDeleteHi there Kristel!! I am writing a post today about our light fixture makeover in our master that you inspired me to do! I will be posting a picture of your light and your blog link! Thanks for the inspiration! My light is a little different from yours, but I wanted to make sure I gave you credit!
ReplyDeleteThanks~
Julie
Hi Julie, I am so glad that I was able to inspire you on your light fixture! This is what makes blogging so much fun, I can't wait to stop by and check it out! Hope you have a great day.
DeleteYour light spells “HOLLYWOOD GLAM.” In a bedroom, you don’t need too much light. You can survive by just having a main light source, a dimmer, and a lamp shade. This is one reason why you should choose a standout light piece for your bedroom.
