I happened to notice in the design of this house, how she manages to use a lot of brass accessories through out the home. Who would had thought, brass is coming back in style. I have noticed the trend, and for me, it couldn't had come at a better time.
Here are some pictures of her gorgeous dining room:

Anyways, the reason I was so happy to share with you all of these pictures, is that a while ago I picked up this set.....FOR FREE...at a garage sale. Yup, you heard right, the lady had them in a box marked "FREE", I couldn't pick them up any faster, and I was so thankful the box was sort of hidden in the back of the garage. It did cross my mind to spray paint them, but after seeing Sarah's accessories, I think I will keep them as is:

I have them grouped along with my other candle holders in the mantel. Slowly, but surely, I have started to add to my brass collection.
So how about you, do you have a brass collection of your own? Would you like to?
Hope you all have a great week!
Kristel

Oh I have a lot of brass and use it most of the time. I love the look, always have. The candlesticks grouped together are gorgeous. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteThank you Marty! Have a great week.
DeleteI'm on board! I think brass adds such warmth and character. You got a great find! Love your new blog design, too! Have a great Monday, Kristel!
ReplyDeleteI love the touches of brass around your home Jennifer, especially your new trunk...just gorgeous! As for the new blog design, well, it's just a little experiment I made myself, I really don't want to pay to have a header made, so I have been playing around photoshop, to see what I can make myself. Hopefully, I can come up with a better color, because the yellow that's there right now, does not suit me. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteLove your touches of brass! They look beautiful in your home!

Those are amazing, and for free?!?!? It doesn't get any better! I definitely like to mix finishes, and I've started to do it in my home. I am loving the result! :)
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, so do I, I guess is the eclectic in me ;)
DeleteYes, and if you head to thrift stores, you can score some awesome brass goodies before people really catch on! I just scored this vintage brass pineapple dish for $1. Yay for a vintage revival!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's a good thing other people don't like brass as much as we do, great find!
DeleteWhat a really great find! I, too, love brass and have some that I need to bring out more often. The featured home is beautiful. Being from Aiken,SC(known for a history with horses), I noticed the huge horse-head picture right away. It is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI think so too, and would LOVE to find one eventually, I have seen a lot of cow prints before, but this is the first time I see one of a horse.
DeleteThe brass craze is making thrifting easier!! I also love that dining room!!
ReplyDeleteI've sort of been leaning towards gold/brass in my home, I'll have to think about it though.lol Love the colors in her diningroom!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by:)
I love brass! yours is looking great! xo
ReplyDeleteHave always loved brass, still use it and think I always will. Sarah can sure design some beautiful rooms!
ReplyDeleteI love brass and use it a lot in my living and dining rooms.

Brass was out of style?????!!!!????
ReplyDeleteYes, at least, that's what "they" made me think to believe, but I see the light now ;)
DeleteYes, I am so happy that brass is back. Now my pretty Baldwin brass hardware that I got on sale when brass is out will be back "in." Not that it was ever "out" with me - I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the brass candlesticks! Great find. I've not seen this episode ( or house) of Sarah's house. Where've I been?
ReplyDeleteI know I always tend to miss the good episodes on HGTV, but now I just set my recorder, so that I can catch up later. BTW, the series is called Sarah's Suburban House.
DeleteHi Kristel, I love Sarah's design style and the dining room is beautiful! Now I wish I hadn't spray painted all my brass candlesticks. Thank you for joining the Open House party. xx, Sherry
