Hi everyone. So, I don't think I have ever showed any pictures of my kids rooms, and I figured it was about time I did. My daughter, Kristina, wanted a very girly room, and of course, mama was very happy to comply.
The first thing we did when we closed on the house, was paint the kids rooms, because they have heavy, bulky furniture, that I knew would be a pain to move around. I managed to do both rooms, on my own, in one day (yeay me!) I wanted them to feel at home fast, and starting on their rooms was my top priority.
I switched out the fan that was in the room, for a chandelier I saved for and bought at Pottery Barn Kids, a girl needs her bling, and this chandelier sure does provide that.

I love that her armoire looks like the one from Beauty and the Beast.
I painted the ceiling medallion the same pink color as the walls.
I painted the stripes on a canvas a few years ago, I believe when we lived in Florida, the colors all came from her room then, and still go in this room as well.
This cookoo clock works, but we keep it silent, the chirping sure is a little noisy at night, and I always forget to shut it off.
This was my first and only attempt at a coffee filter wreath.
This is the first picture you see as you walk in the room. I believe this picture was taken about two years ago. I know that the decor in this room will change when she gets a little older, but for now, I am really enjoying her room as it is, and of course, enjoying my little one as well, they sure do grow up way too fast :(
Here is a picture, taken this past weekend, on her way to a daddy and daughter dance:
Hope you enjoyed the tour of my little monkey's room, I will try (can't promise) to show my son's room next, but you can't quite control the mess a pre teen does, I don't know if it's a boy thing, or a pre teen thing, but that room is just never clean, no matter how much I make him clean it, which believe me, it's a complete hassle, and I always end up doing it myself, and that only last until he gets home.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Kristel

ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I, a grown woman, want this room? It's cute, comfy and so peaceful. Beautiful! I, too, have had to do a one day painting bonanza...it's exhausting, but so worth it to have it done. Paint can change a whole perspective.
